Partial Solar Eclipse

Taken yesterday 01/08/08.
Between 0930 and 1105 there was a partial Solar eclipse over the UK. This is what it looked like through the passing cloud.

Comet McNaught

Comet McNaught was pretty spectacular in Jan 2007 and there were some fabulous images published on the web. I managed one from my drive just as it was setting behind the houses opposite. That was the one and only time I viewed it.

Ursa Major and the Plough

The first is of Ursa Major. Also known as the Great Bear.





















Then we have the Plough or Big Dipper. This forms part of Ursa Major. Mizar and Alcor are easily separated in this picture towards the bottom left.
